GLOBAL UNDERGROUND 020: DARREN EMERSON SINGAPORE (BOXED)

Based on his NYE’s set in Singapore last year, Darren Emerson finally fulfil the wishes of many punters in Singapore. He delivers GU’s latest compilation, destination –Singapore!

His tight programming and mixing is evident as he lays Remote Control’s ‘Bruno’ over Ramirez’s accordion charged ‘Hablando’ as the intro to the mix. Funky and groovy basslines of ‘Junior Aspirin’ and ‘Do You Like The Way you Feel When you Shake?’, robotic vocal’s of ‘Universal Personal’ and ‘Join The Chant’ all lend character to this house mix. A mixture of styles as Circulation’s lush sounds of ‘Purple’ also features.

Disc two focuses on the soulfula and funky side of house. Shyman & DJ Lik’s ‘Make Me Do Right’ leads the charge, accompanied by The Unlikely Lads’ ‘Two Of A Kind’ and Circulation’s ‘Magenta’. Slam’s deeper grooves in ‘Lifetimes’ swings the mood before more soul takes over them mix. Darren rounds up his mix with his own remix of Laurent Garnier’s ‘Man With The Red Face’ for good measure. Nice one on yer……
