nu-progressive era (Hooj) Digitally mixed by Red Jerry

 

Mixed by Hooj Choons stalwart, Red Jerry, this compilation mixes various styles and embarks on a progressive trip. The significance of this release is that it is the first non-Hooj releases. With the exception of a few, most of the tracks were licensed from other labels.

Disc one kicks off with the Am’B’ient Mix of DATAR’s ‘B’. Pacing itself, the mix builds into a deep tribal feel with E.B.E’s ‘Held Over’, Joeski Presents 6400 Project’s ‘Method’ and culminating in Silvio Ecomo’s ‘Standing’. Adam Beyer’s bass-driven ‘Remaining Ill’ delves darker into the deep feel established by the mix. A darker slant prevailing in the ‘progressive’ fratenity is evident in the track selection. Brought to a slow with the atmospheric breakdown of Slide’s ‘Closure’. It doesn’t end here.

Disc two, on a funky trip with Hipp-e’s ‘Down On Me’ followed by Sven Vath’s ‘My Name Is Babarella’. Picking up from the first disc, the mix continues on the deeper side of house and trance. The tribal touch is left peppered by tunes like Joff Roach’s ‘Analisis’ and The Freak Project’s ‘Beat Of A Drum’. Escalating to a high the mix rounds of with L.S.G’s ‘Fragile Part 2’. A classic in its own right.
