NOCTURNAL FRQUENCIES 2 (LOGIC RECORDS) Mixed by Danny Howells

Continuing the Nocturnal Frequencies series, Danny Howells serves up a double CD mix in volume two. Chris Coco’s ‘La Isla’ latin grooves preludes the deep tribal beats to follow. Eternal Sun’s ‘Afro Swyped’, Willy Sanjuan meets DJ Lima and DJ Elias’ ‘Groove Is In The Air’. A deep mix of house. Disc one has a funky build up which doesn’t peak as a mix.

Disc two builds on the mix of the first, Luke Slater’s ‘Body Freeform’ brings it up a notch. Deep Dish’s remix of Amber’s ‘Sexual’ highlights a mix that doesn’t fall short of being tight and progressive. Dawntreader’s ‘Overland’ provides for a trance inspired direction to the mix. Takng it to a climax is ‘Mongolian Darkness’ by Maurits Paardekooper before launching into Bedrock’s Voices.
