This
is the first Wetmusik CD to be recorded at R.M.I.T’s Storey Hall
(Melbourne). BK & Rhythm Boy provide the live percussion intro that
has become a signature of Wetmusik’s performances. Where they leave
off, the mix picks up with Will E Tell’s very own ‘Taha Ua Tolu Fa’.
Coming in hard and furious, percussive beats and a pounding bassline.
Simon Digby and Will E Tell keeps the mix tight and peppers it with
effects, occasionally cutting the bass. Back spinning the decks. Cut
back to Simon’s pounding ‘Bench Mark’, Thomas Schumacher’s
‘Shelford Rd’. “Psychedelic
Experience…… Psychedelic Experience……” Tribal percussion
dominate Will E Tell’s ‘Teu Teu Haka’.
Umek’s
synth heavy ‘Mamomit’, Apharisc dark pounder ‘From Hell’
and quirky ‘Playing With Words’. Not to be neglected, Oliver
Ho’s funky ‘Awakening The Sentient’. A mishmash (in a good way) of
22 selections. Play this loud and immerse yourself into the crowd, that
is what live recordings are about, the cheers, shouts and screams.
