CREAM PARTY @ ZOUK – 11.05.01 FUTURESHOCK

Space + body + music + dance = Cream. Such a simple equation established. While it was Futureshock’s debut in Singapore, the night marked the continued relationship of the Cream parties and Zouk over the years.

With half an hour or so before the 4 hour set, punters milled around the dancefloor waiting for the party to begin. Judging by the warm-up set, the music for the night would be far from tame. The crowd started to build as the music did too. Jakatta’s ‘American Dream’ and Satoshi Tomiie’s ‘Love In Traffic’ were the tunes that got the party going. With eveyone making their way down to the dancefloor, choosing a spot wasn’t really an option. Find some space? Take it or leave it. Hands in the air, scream if you care!

The flyers suggested a tech-progressive-tribal-house fusion. As confusing as it sounds, Futureshock delivered a mix that was peppered with the various elements. Not to mention some groove,  Most recognised current house favourites Futureshock’s ‘Sparc’ and trisco’s ‘Muzak’. “They don’t know what is what……what the f@#k?”, The crowd just loves Fatboy Slim’s ‘Star 69’. Not strictly a house set, progressive trance such as Odessi’s ‘Moments In space’ was also played.
